Olayos Family

Wow it’s hard to believe that I started my blogging journey a whole year ago.

I’m excited to share with you about my first year of blogging. Before I started this blog I read all the how to’s and what not to do’s that I could find on pinterest. I got fixated on the posts that said said you needed to have a passion for writing to be successful….See  I’m not a natural writer, in fact I struggled in school with reading and writing. I knew absolutely nothing about blogging, SEO or any of that mumbo jumbo except for what I read. However I had the support and encouragement of my husband and  also a good friend that was starting her own blog as well so I took a leap and hit publish on my first post.

Looking back I find it pretty funny that the first post I ended up writing was a full story about our vasectomy reversal and pregnancy struggle……. me the  new blogger, non writer ended up doing a pretty darn good job telling a story that others actually wanted to read. I was feeling like a pro getting posts out in a timely manner. To my surprise I landed a couple awesome collaborations with some fantastic companies it all felt so official like I was really doing it.

I was so excited because I was actually following through with and making this blogging thing happen……..or so I thought

See when I started out I had high hopes to share our combined family life, DIY projects, favorite things and lots of fun stuff. I started off doing that then real life hit hard, I went back to work full time,  I couldn’t always find the time to write a new post. If I’m being honest at times I lost my motivation at times didn’t follow through with my plan.

I’ll count the last year as a season of learning . After all I never gave up and if nothing else I’m happy and proud of myself for sticking to it.

I’m also so happy for each and everyone of you that has read my posts and sent me messages of encouragement. I have also gained an incredible support system through Instagram

My Promise to all of you

This year will be filled with all the great things from last year with the addition of even more family life, DIY projects and all my favorite things.

Smile,
