We had such an fantastic day celebrating Everly at her Growing Like A Flower 1st birthday party! I had been anxiously awaiting this day for many months. Which meant I had to use lots of self control to not over do it hahaha. I pulled out my crafting skills to make some of the decorations. I also received some adorable decorations from a few small shops. We kept the food super simple- finger foods and a yummy fruit salad oh and of course a yummy sparkling pink lemonade punch.

Everly absolutely loved having all the attention on her until it was time for the ” Happy Birthday” song. She froze and hardly touched her cake, which was a shock to all of us. I’m sure she will make up for it on her second birthday.

Who’s ready for some photo spam !?!?

Happy Birthday Balloons

I made it a point to take a photo of lil miss Everly every month and found this cute idea on Pinterest on how to display them. It was such a great addition and went great above the gift table along with the adorable “grow like a flower” sign that Candace over at GlitterPartyCo made especially  for Everly.

Cake Topper – “1” Cupcake Toppers

The smash cake, cupcakes and rose cupcake toppers were some of the other DIY projects that I did. I was super nervous about decorating the cake. I wanted to stick with the flower them so I grabbed a cake decorating kit at the grocery store and winged it and it actually ended up being super simple. ( I can do a tutorial if you would like ?!?!)  The topper from Erica at Avalon Sunshine completed it so nicely.

I wanted to keep the food super simple since it was a mid day party. So there was a selection of cheese, meat and crackers. Along with fruit salad, veggies and hummus. Big sister livi made the adorable polka dot garland- she is my lil crafting buddy.

PomPoms & Paper Fans

After singing Happy Birthday to our sweet lil lady she was a little overwhelmed and hardly touched her cake. Which honestly shocked us all since she is normally such a messy, I don’t give a crap sorta girl. I even tried to show her how to do it and well, I ened up messier then her. It was sure still fun to watch her pick at the frosting and giggle every time she got it in my hair !

I’m reminded every day by this lil lady to slow down and enjoy all the little things cause by gosh it goes by way to quickly.

Smile,
